Belizean Traveller Video Contest Winners

Belize City, Belize 22^nd August 2022 — The Belize Tourism Board is pleased to officially announce the winners of the Belizean Traveller Video Contest held from 15^th June – 2^nd August 2022. The social media contest opened with a call for short videos that shared either a favourite place to visit, a must-try activity or adventure, or a savory cultural dish in Belize. A variety of submissions were received featuring destinations across the country including Caye Caulker, Punta Gorda, and San Ignacio, as well various attractions including archaeological sites, etc. 

Five videos were shortlisted based on originality, creativity, and relevance to the topic. These were published on the Belizean Traveller Facebook page where the public voted for their favourite video. At the end of the contest, the top three videos with the most shares and interactions were the first, second, and third place winners. We hereby congratulate:

• First Place Winner – Leeanne Palma: 239 shares, 366 reactions. The video promoted the diversity and culture of Punta Gorda. She won a one-night stay, ziplining package for two, and 30% off meals sponsored by Bocawina Rainforest Resort and Adventures and $750.00 courtesy the BTB. 
• Second Place Winner –  Nick Huang: 165 shares, 353 reactions. The video featured a variety of places and adventures that showcased Belize’s natural beauty. He won a full day sailing and snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve for two and $500.00, both courtesy the BTB. 
• Third Place Winner – Briannie Young: 116 shares, 168 reactions. The video  featured the rich ancient Maya history of Xunantunich. She won a guided tour of the Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave for two and $300.00, both courtesy the BTB.
