BTB Tourism Statistics Sensitization Exercise

Belize City, Belize, November 21, 2022: Since early November, the Belize Tourism Board’s Industry Development Department (IDD) has been engaged in a tourism statistics sensitization exercise with various Tertiary Level Institutions throughout Belize. The program involved a series of presentations on the various types of tourism data produced by the IDD’s Tourism Data Unit on a monthly and annual basis. The information was presented to students enrolled in tourism-related programs. The students were shown how to navigate through BTB’s Tourism Performance Dashboard, and to identify key highlights within the data being presented. 

The lectures were delivered virtually to students of the University of Belize and Sacred Heart Junior College, and in-person to students at Corozal Junior College and Escuela Secundaria Técnica México in the Corozal District.    Other presentations are scheduled in the coming weeks for students in the Stann Creek district.   

The central focus of the presentations is BTB’s Tourism Performance Dashboard and the recently launched 2021 Tourism Statistics Digest. Both are now available on the Belize Tourism Board’s website.
