Belize City, Belize, October 30, 2023 — Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) officially inaugurated its Satellite Office in San Pedro with a short ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the Border Management Agency Building, located opposite the Saca Chispas Field in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
The inauguration of the BTB San Pedro Satellite Office solidifies BTB’s commitment to improving our services as we ensure the economic growth of the tourism industry through a prudent and transparent process. This new office will afford our walk-in San Pedro stakeholders and visitors full access to BTB’s services and tourism-related information. The BTB is committed to continuously striving to provide efficient and accessible services to its stakeholders and visitors.
In his opening remarks Hon. Andre Perez, Minister of Blue Economy & Civil Aviation, shared, “The grand re-opening of the Belize Tourism Board Satellite office in San Pedro is an indication of the faith placed in the economic force of this island and the in-borne commitment to tourism in this community.”
In his remarks, Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations, noted, “We are blessed with wealth untold and we need to develop and enforce the policies to protect our resources. This Satellite Office is only the beginning of many projects scheduled for the improved quality of services and infrastructure for San Pedro and Caye Caulker.”
Present at the inauguration ceremony were the CEO of the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Mrs. Nicole Solano; Chairman of the Belize Tourism Board, Mr. Mohit Budhrani; Mayor of San Pedro, Mr. Gualberto Nunez; Deputy Mayor of San Pedro, Ms. Johnnia Duarte; General Manager of the Border Management Agency, Mr. Oswin Blease; representatives of the Belize Hotel Association, Belize Tourism Industry Association, and Border Management Agency; tourism stakeholders, and other special guests. Before the ribbon-cutting, Mr. Evan Tillett, Director of Tourism, expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the importance of the new office and the added value it will offer to tourism stakeholders and visitors of San Pedro.
The BTB San Pedro Office will be open weekly from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM from Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, it will be open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
