Joseph Pate, known as JoeDaBartender, has been recognized as the latest Frontline Hero by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB). With over a decade of bartending experience, Joseph began his career at Coco Beach Resort on San Pedro Ambergris Caye, mastering speed, efficiency, and consistency. His skills flourished at Mahogany Bay Resort, where he earned an International Certification and gained national and international acclaim.
Beyond his bartending achievements, Joseph is deeply committed to his community. As the owner of Alibi Cocktails and Bites in La Isla Bonita, he launched a program offering $5.00 meals for children from low-income families, showcasing his dedication to inclusivity and social responsibility.
Joseph aspires to establish a bartending school to nurture future bartenders. His passion for hospitality and desire to create lasting memories underscores his ethos. “I am just a humble guy, whose journey started in Corozal and ended up in San Pedro,” Joseph remarks. “I love meeting people, making them happy, and spreading knowledge about our beautiful country, all while crafting superb cocktails and fostering friendships.”
Joseph has competed nationally four times, securing two victories and two third-place finishes. He proudly represented Belize at the Pan American Cocktail Championship in Venezuela in 2022, placing third.
In recognition of his contributions, Joseph receives a $1,500 cash award from the BTB and a two-night stay for two, courtesy of Black Orchid Resort. His dedication to excellence and compassion embodies the spirit of Belizean hospitality.

The Belize Tourism Board is pleased to introduce Ms. Nora Williams as its newest Front Line Hero. Hailing from the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Nora Williams’ journey has been a vivid tapestry of care, dedication, compassion, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
She currently works as a House Keeping Supervisor at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, where her impact has stretched far beyond the realm of tidy rooms. She has lent her magic touch to banquets, in the kitchen, and extended a heartfelt welcome to guests.
As part of her award, Nora received $1,500 in cash, courtesy of the BTB, and a two-night stay at SunBreeze Suites, Ambergris Caye, courtesy of SunBreeze Hotel.
